Caris graduated from Edith Cowan University with a Bachelor of Laws and was admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2013. She worked in the community legal sector providing advice and assistance in family law, restraining orders, criminal law and other matters. Caris then moved to the private legal sector, where she further developed her knowledge of family law at a boutique family law firm before joining CGL Legal in 2020.
Caris is able to assist clients with their parenting and financial family law matters. She uses her versatile experience to provide client focused advice and solutions to those whose family law matters are complicated by other issues, including restraining orders, family violence or substance abuse issues.
Caris has experience in conducting trial hearings in the Family Court of Western Australia, appearing as an agent for interstate firms, and in matters involving international or interstate relocation of children, interstate proceedings and enforcement issues.
She is also experienced in representing clients at formal and informal dispute resolution processes, and prioritises achieving a cost-effective result for clients and avoiding unnecessary litigation where possible.
Her interests include travelling and hiking, and she enjoys spending time with her dog, family and friends.
